Men in Monochrome – with Kince

Full Content available here:

As with all my new work, the blog post will have content safe for Instagram. Any more explicit photos that wouldn’t be IG safe are on my justforfans page.

I first photographed Kince about 2 years ago. As all of you know, I love shooting dancers, for multiple reasons. I love the body awareness that comes from focusing on your body for years. I love the freedom of movement and experimentation of body and limb positioning. Kince is even a step above that in that he’s also an artist of various disciplines. He’s written songs, he’s an experienced model, he’s a dancer, etc. We respect each other as artists a lot.

We chose to do the shoot in his space instead of mine. I love the idea of doing that more. While there is a definite artistic challenge to capturing many people differently in the same space, I also love the idea of capturing people nude in their own spaces. There’s a different level of comfort for them, even if it takes me a little longer to get going as I try to understand their space and the light available. Like my apartment, Kince’s faces due north. North facing light is beautiful in that it’s never really direct or harsh, and gives the softness I love for my photos.

I love art, but I LOVE artists. I really enjoyed my time just talking to Kince, and the time I spent photographing him. We took some great images last time we were together, but I feel like what we captured this round were more connected and fluid. And what we capture the next time we shoot will probably be better still, as we continue to hone our crafts.

As always, I hope you enjoy the images!

With Love,
